Synopsis: Lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Monty Python’s Spamalot retells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, and features a bevy of beautiful show girls, not to mention cows, killer rabbits, and French people. Did we mention a bevy of beautiful showgirls? The outrageous, uproarious, and gloriously entertaining story of King Arthur and the Lady of the Lake will delight audiences as they search for the Holy Grail and “always look on the bright side of life.”

KING ARTHUR (Male Presenting)
Vocal range: Baritone
The King of England who sets out on a quest to form the Knights of the Roundtable and find the Holy Grail. Great Humor. Good singer.

THE LADY OF THE LAKE (Female Presenting)
Vocal range: Alto Belt
A Diva. Strong, beautiful, possesses mystical powers. The leading lady of the show. Great singing voice is essential, as she must be able to sing effortlessly in many styles and vocal registers.

SIR ROBIN (Male Presenting)
Vocal range: Tenor/Baritone
A Knight of the Round Table. Ironically called "Sir Robin the Brave," though he couldn't be more cowardly. Joins the Knights for the singing and dancing. Also plays Brother Maynard, a long winded monk. Needs comedic timing and musical ability.

SIR LANCELOT (Male Presenting)
Vocal range: Tenor/Baritone
A Knight of the Round Table. He is fearless to a bloody fault but through a twist of fate, does discover his 'softer side.' This actor MUST be great with character voices and accents, as he also plays The French Taunter, an arrogant, condescending, over-the-top Frenchman, the Knight of Ni, an absurd, cartoonish leader of a peculiar group of Knights, and Tim the Enchanter, a ghostly being with a Scottish accent.

PATSY (Any)
Vocal range: Baritone
King Arthur’s horse and servant. Under-appreciated but always longing for King Arthur’s approval. Good, funny, physical mover with some tap dancing.

SIR GALAHAD (Male Presenting)
A Knight of the Round Table. Begins as Dennis, a lower class "mud gatherer" who becomes knighted and transforms into the dashing Sir Galahad. Also potentially plays Prince Herbert’s Father, wealthy, brutish Yorkshireman man at odds with his sensitive son, and The Black Knight who is always ready to duel despite multiple injuries. Strong baritenor singing required.

SIR BEDEVERE (Male Presenting)
Vocal range: Baritone
A Knight of the Round Table. A strangely flatulent, inept scholar. Minor ensemble singing required. Also plays Dennis’ Mother.

PRINCE HERBERT (Male Presenting)
Vocal range: Baritone
The hopeful and frilly prince who loves to sing and pines for his love atop a tower. Also potentially plays The Historian (a tweedy academic) and Not Dead Fred (A sickly little fellow who, despite others' beliefs, claims he is "not yet dead.")

ENSEMBLE: Spamalot has many other ensemble roles including; Laker Girl, Ladies in Waiting, Knights of the Round Table, Guards, French People, etc... Strong Dancers, Singers, Great Humor.
